Appointed by TrusteesIrene is an experienced Primary Headteacher and has worked extensively as a School Improvement Advisor and Independent Consultant in Primary education. Irene joined the Board of Governors at OSFC in 2005, initially as a Parent Governor, a position she held for 2 years while her daughter and son attended the College. Irene was invited to join OSFC Board of Governors as an Independent Governor in November 2007, and was elected Chair of the Quality Committee and Vice-Chair of Governors. Further to the creation of the Pinnacle Learning Trust in 2017, Irene was Vice-Chair of Governors, then Chair of Governors at OSFC, a Trustee of the PLT and a Governor at two primary schools, including Werneth. Since October 2021, Irene has been the Chair of Governors at Werneth Primary School.

Jane initially worked in industry after leaving school with a background in business and finance, but then returned to education and gained a BA(Hons) degree in Primary Education with QTS. She has taught for many years and was a governor for 6 years. She has taught across Key Stage 1 & 2, leading in Art & Design, SEND, Literacy, and Looked After Children, and was Key Stage 2 leader. At present she is the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and more recently has become the GDPR champion in school. Jane is currently a Deputy Head Teacher at a school in Rochdale, and works closely with the Governing Body in her role on the Senior Leadership Team.

Elected by staffI have worked at Werneth Primary School for nearly 40 years and served as a Governor for over 15 years. I am proud to be part of this wonderful community and feel privileged to have worked with and supported many families over the years. Most of my time at Werneth has been spent working in Early Years, an area which remains a passion for me. I have trained as an Early Language Lead Practitioner and a REAL practitioner. My current role in school is Assistant SENDCO and Deputy Safeguarding Lead. I am a trained Trauma Informed Mental Health Practitioner and a Youth Mental Health First Aider. I am also the proud mum to two sons who were both former pupils at Werneth Primary School and OSFC . -

As Senior Vice Principal, for a decade at the college my main priority is to achieve the delivery of a rich, broad and balanced curriculum, alongside the leadership of our pupil premium strategy and assessment recording and reporting systems.
I am proud to continue teaching Geography and be able to support both students and families by improving outcomes within Oldham and helping young people from our community progress onto further and higher education.

Rhea currently works with the University of Manchester on the Future Leaders Graduate Programme and is gaining invaluable practical knowledge within the domain of Higher Education.
She holds an MSc in Organisational Psychology and a PGCert in Higher Education. She currently works in Special Corporate Projects in the university’s Finance department and has previously held positions in Strategic Change and as an Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) coordinator.
She is passionate and eager to contribute to Werneth Primary school, leveraging her expertise to support the school’s mission and enhance the educational experience for all students. -
